I pulled this image originally from a dusty old internet archive of photos uploaded by amateur photographers for creative use. The only thing I know about this image is that it was taken/uploaded on February 19, 2007.
My favorite part of this image is that these people (presumably father and son) were in this place (somewhere in Europe) 20 years ago and someone put their photo on the internet where it sat unnoticed until I decided to reverse it and make a carving about it. If those people that I’ve never met didn’t take that vacation, or move to that town, or capture that shopping trip, then I would have made a completely different piece here in 2026 in Ohio…
